Hey everyone, I really need some outside perspective on this.
A few months ago, my sister (34F) and I (30M) agreed that I would babysit her two kids (ages 5 and 7) only if I was given at least 48 hours' notice. I work from home and need to manage my schedule carefully.
Last weekend, she showed up at my house unannounced, dropped the kids off with their overnight bags, and said she “had an emergency trip” with her boyfriend. I was completely blindsided. I told her this wasn’t okay and she needed to come back, but she didn’t respond to my messages for over 12 hours.
geometry dash liteI ended up keeping the kids safe and entertained, but I was furious. Now, she’s calling me selfish for saying I won’t help again unless she sticks to our agreement. She says “family should be there no matter what.”
AITA for setting this boundary and refusing to watch the kids next time if she pulls something like this again?
