Is it rude to bring your own food to a dinner party?

Hey everyone! I’ve got a bit of a dilemma and need an outside perspective. I’m going to a dinner party next week, and I’ve recently started a pretty restrictive diet due to health reasons. I’m debating whether I should bring my own food or just eat what I can from what’s served and avoid the rest. I don’t want to come across as rude or unappreciative of the host's effort, but I also don’t want to put myself in a position where I can’t eat much. Do you think it’s okay to bring my own food to a dinner party if I explain the situation beforehand, or is that crossing a line? ragdoll hit
